No prior welding experience is required. The MIG Welding Flux Core Intensive is designed specifically for complete beginners. We start from the very basics — how to hold the torch, how the arc works, and proper body positioning — and build your skills progressively throughout the day. By the end, you will be running clean beads and welding real joints with confidence.

The class runs from 8:00 AM to approximately 5:30 PM — a full day of intensive, hands-on instruction. This includes a lunch break and short breaks throughout the day. We have found that one focused, immersive day produces better results than spreading the same content over multiple weeks of shorter sessions.

Wear long pants (jeans or heavy cotton work pants are ideal), closed-toe boots (steel-toe preferred but not required), and a long-sleeve cotton or natural fiber shirt. Avoid synthetic fabrics like polyester, nylon, or spandex — they can melt when exposed to sparks. We provide all welding-specific safety gear including helmets, gloves, and aprons.

Everything you need is provided. This includes professional-grade MIG welding machines, auto-darkening welding helmets, leather welding gloves, welding aprons, safety glasses, all consumables (flux core wire, practice plates, project steel), and hand tools. You do not need to bring anything except yourself and appropriate clothing.

Yes. A full lunch is provided during the midday break, along with water, coffee, and refreshments available throughout the day. If you have specific dietary restrictions or allergies, please let us know when you book so we can accommodate you.

Every class is limited to a maximum of five students. This is intentional — it ensures that each student receives personalized, one-on-one attention from the instructor. Your technique is corrected in real time, your questions are answered immediately, and the pace adjusts to your learning style. This is the Legacy Welding Academy difference.

The MIG Welding Flux Core Intensive is $1,250 per student. This is an all-inclusive price — there are no hidden fees, no upsells, and no additional costs. The price covers all equipment, materials, consumables, lunch, your completion certificate, a take-home project, and lifetime access to our alumni community. Payment is processed securely through Square when you book.

We offer a full refund if you cancel at least 7 days before your scheduled class. If you cancel within 7 days of your class date, we will reschedule you for the next available class at no additional charge. No-shows without prior notice forfeit their enrollment fee. We understand that life happens — just communicate with us and we will work with you.

Students must be at least 18 years old to enroll independently. Students aged 16 or 17 may participate with written parental consent and a parent or guardian-signed liability waiver. The parent or guardian must be present at check-in. For safety reasons, we do not accept students under 16 years of age.

Yes. Upon successful completion of the class, you will receive an official Legacy Welding Academy Completion Certificate documenting your training in MIG welding (flux core) fundamentals and safety. Please note that this is a training completion certificate — it is not an AWS (American Welding Society) certification. However, the skills you learn will prepare you for further certification if you choose to pursue it.
